Magnetic Separators used in Recycling
Magnetic separators are an essential feature of the recycling industry, allowing for metals to be salvaged and recycled. Once separated, the metals can be smelted back down and reutilised in new and varied applications. One of the great features of recycling metals, compared to mining more from the ground, is that metal recycling creates less pollution.

How does it work?
The concept of magnetic separation is to remove iron-based materials from other products by the use of magnetic force. Magnetic separators are used for a wide range of situations within the recycling industry from rubber to glass recycling. Magnetic separators allow for efficient and accurate removal of ferrous products from other non-ferrous items.
A magnetic separator can be adjusted in field intensity meaning that it can be precise in its specific application while being able to handle large number of products in a minimal time frame. As magnetic separators require low maintenance it has meant they have become a firm favourite throughout the recycling industry.
The main type of magnetic separators used in recycling are the Eddy Current Separator, the Magnetic Head Pulley and the Overband Magnetic Separator.

Overband Magnetic Separator
The Overband Magnetic Separator will remove iron-based particles or objects from other materials while running over a conveyor belt. Not only does it allow you to utilise the iron-based products, it also helps product equipment further down the recycling chain.

Magnetic Head Pulley
The Magnetic Head Pulley is designed to removal tramp metals during the recycling process. Magnetic Head Pullies are largely seen in the recycling of metal, paper, and wood, to name a few.

Eddy Current Separator
The Eddy Current Separator (ECS) is a firm favourite for recycling. The intelligent design allows for the separation of non-iron metals including brass, copper, lead and aluminium.
