COLLECTING WASTE MAGNETS ACROSS EUROPE
Newland Magnetics has established a comprehensive network for purchasing and collecting waste magnets throughout Europe. This network includes partnerships with businesses, industrial facilities, and recycling centres to gather end of life magnets, magnetic assemblies, computer hard drives, and motors etc more efficiently. By encouraging the sale and collection of these magnets, we are fostering a culture of recycling and responsible disposal.
Advanced recycling processes
Once the waste magnets arrive at our parent company, they undergo advanced recycling processes. The company utilises state-of-the-art technology to extract valuable materials from the magnets, such as rare earth elements, which can then be reused in the production of new magnets and other products. This recycling effort not only conserves natural resources but also reduces the environmental impact of mining and raw material extraction.
The EU Critical raw material act has stated that new rare earth magnets should contain 25% recycled material, yet currently less than 5% of magnets contain recycled rare earth elements.
