What does isotropic mean?

A magnet that is made of magnetically isotropic material has no preferred direction of magnetism and the properties on each axis are the same. Isotropic material can be manipulated during manufacture so that the magnetic field can be applied in any direction. Flexible magnets are normally isotropic, this allows the magnetic field to be exerted from one side.
