What is the B-H curve?
The B-H curve is also known as the magnetisation curve or the demagnetisation curve. It is a graph that shows the relationship between the magnetic flux density and the magnetic field strength needed to demagnetise a magnet. The graph is the second quadrant of a hysteresis curve. The graph is the second quadrant of a hysteresis curve. This magnetic flux density increases proportionally with the field strength until it reaches a point of saturation and is constant, despite the field strength still increasing. The magnetic flux density is measured in Gauss or Tesla; 10,000 Gauss is the same as 1 Tesla. The magnetic field strength is measured in Oersteds.
